The Abraham Global Peace Initiative

The Abraham Global Peace Initiative has invited school boards to book a new exhibit that reaffirms equity, diversity, and inclusivity protocols essential for the professional development and awareness of staff and students.

Their newest Human Rights exhibit is called "Not in My Name" and links the Antisemitism and racism of the past with the rising tide of hate facing many racialized and marginalized communities across our country and beyond. The exhibit tells the tragic story of the MS St. Louis – the ship that was turned away by Canada, America, and Cuba because it was carrying Jewish refugees fleeing the Holocaust.

The exhibit addresses historic Antisemitism and its contemporary resurgence; it informs and educates students and staff about the Holocaust through the lens of the Jewish refugees; it addresses Canada's historic apology, and it brings to the fore a shameful moment that captures issues of complicity, silence, and hatred concerning Canada's immigration policies of the time.

You can view the Not In My Name Exhibit online and learn more about it HERE.  So too, you can review a previous exhibit, The Power of One, which was showcased at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and the United Nations General Assembly. The educational team still takes school, board, and community bookings for this exhibit. For additional information on that, please click HERE
